Abstract

This study investigates trends, effectiveness, and challenges in implementing Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL) in Arabic language education from 2020 to 2025.  A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines was conducted by analyzing 42 eligible studies retrieved from international databases.. The findings reveal that MALL significantly enhances vocabulary acquisition, speaking and listening skills, and learners’ motivation in learning Arabic. Applications such as Duolingo, Mufradat-E, and WhatsApp Learning have demonstrated effectiveness in supporting contextual and continuous learning. Nevertheless, challenges remain, including inadequate technological infrastructure,  limited teacher training, and distractions caused by mobile devices. The study concludes that MALL has substantial potential to transform Arabic language education, provided that adequate policies, professional development programs, and localized learning content are available. These findings offer implications for educators, application developers, and policymakers in designing flexible and technology-enhanced learning strategies.
